Jamberoo General Cemetery comprises denominational portions, a small lawn cemetery and a large columbarium. Although there are a couple of earlier inscriptions extant, the cemetery appears to have come into use in the 1890s. Before then, the various churches in Jamberoo provided cemetery services.
John Arthur visited Jamberoo Cemetery in October 2007 and made digital images of every visible inscription. He found the site in good condition and well maintained. He says that the portions were all signposted and easy to follow but there were no row markers.
John's images may be downloaded from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled from his images and with reference to the NSW BDM indices and the Australian War Memorial service rolls for additional information.
Jamberoo General Cemetery is on the northern side of Drualla Street, about 0.2km from Churchill Street.
Jamberoo Cemetery is administered by the Kiama Municipal Council. For further information, contact Council at PO Box 75, Kiama NSW 2533; phone: 02 4232 0444; email: council@kiama.nsw.gov.au
