birth in 1880 reg'd in 1881; buried with his wife Agnes; On his Attestation and Enlistment form in 1917, Frederick stated he had been in the Militia for 21 years. Fred had also served in the Boer War in South Africa; Married "... at the residence of Thomas Chalmers of Richmond, by the Rector of St. Peter's, Humphrey Fryer. Agnes had been born on 2/4/1886 in Orange and at the time of her marriage had been employed as a domestic servant. At the end of the month the Gazette reported that Fred had joined the naval boat "Mildura" for a trip to India, where the fleet had gone on a cruising expedition...."
