Patrick John GORMAN; Born: abt 1842, Dublin, Ireland; Father: John Gorman; Mother (Maiden): Mary (nee-Kane) Gorman. Marriage: Mary Lucy (nee-Dorris) [previously married, Murphy] Murphy, 27/11/1871 - Bengal, India. Military: Senior Sergeant Major - Served: Ireland, Canada, India, England Jul-1876-Sept-1876 (23rd Brigade, Woolwich, Eng.); Immigration: Dep-London, Eng., 23/09/1884 to Arr-Brisbane, Qld., 18/11/1884; Patrick John Gorman arrived in Brisbane, Australia with Colonel - Arthur French under order of the Imperial Army. To form a permanent Artillery Division and further set the foundation for the Queensland Defence Force - hence later evolving into the 'Commonwealth Military Forces'. Snr Sgt Mjr - Patrick John Gorman upon his retirement was appointed 'Lodge Keeper', at the "Queensland Government House Lodge" - (Rosalie) Paddington, Qld, Australia. Patrick John Gorman resided at Queensland Government House Lodge - up to his final passing, 15/05/1916, "Qld. Gov. House Lodge".
