General Bridges Drive
The grave is located in a bushland setting on Mt Pleasant within the grounds of the Royal Military College, Duntroon. The memorial was designed by Walter Burley Griffin in 1916 and completed in 1920. The grave is surmounted by a bronze sword on a low, polished granite slab on a two tier base of rock-faced granite. It is enclosed in a large white gravelled area, within a low metal fence. Bridges selected the site of the College and was its first Commandant. Bridges was reinterred from Egypt here 3 Sep 1915.
The grave is in excellent condition (2017) as is well maintained. It is a listed place on the Commonwealth Heritage List.
The grave can be found to the left of General Bridges Drive as it begins to climb up Mt Pleasant. The drive is off Robert Campbell Road within the grounds of the Royal Military College, Duntroon at Campbell, ACT.
