The gravesite is located in a bushland setting on Mt Stromlo within the grounds of the Mount Stromlo Observatory. WG Duffield is buried here along with the ashes of his wife DT Duffield and daughter JD Duffield. The gravesite is enclosed (2017) within a white picket fence marked with a white painted wooden cross bearing the initials WGD and the words Per ardua ad astra (Through struggle to the stars).
