Lismore Memorial Gardens
Lismore Memorial Gardens is a large regional cemetery owned and operated by the Lismore City Council at Goonellabah NSW. Established in 1966, it comprises a lawn cemetery and crematorium and covers an area of some 13 hectares. It is maintained in beautiful condition by Council, with particular attention given to its lawns and gardens.
The cemetery inscriptions were photographed by Sandra and Warren Cockbain, who began work there in April 2013. They have completed the lawn plaques and hope to include the columbaria and garden plaques in due course. The list of inscriptions was compiled with reference to the NSW and Queensland online indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information.
Goonellabah is approximately 4km east of Lismore via the Bruxner Highway. Turn south off the highway into Rous Road for 1.7km and then right into Skyline Road for 400m to the cemetery entrance.
