The small cemetery attached to St Mary's Church at Yarra contains inscriptions dating from 1878 but there are several known burials during the earlier years of the 1870s. The Anglican Church building is now in ruins but the cemetery is maintained, presumably by local volunteers.

The cemetery inscriptions were transcribed by Reg and Jean McDonell in 1996, before this website came into being, and the images of the inscriptions have now been kindly contributed by Ruth King. Ruth's pictures may be downloaded from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. That list has been compiled with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages for additional information.

Yarra Cemetery is on the north-western side of the highway 12km south of Goulburn but, if traveling from Goulburn, it is necessary to go past the cemetery for nearly 10km before being able to make a u-turn onto the north-bound lanes of the divided road. The access lane to St Marys church and its cemetery is signposted.
