Gundillion Cemetery was photographed by Robyn Langley in December 2009. Robyn says:

"Gundillion is 100klms south east of Canberra in the Bendethera Valley. Exhibited in the cemetery is a list of the Pioneers of the region and this is commemorated with a plaque on a large Rock at the entrance. There are many unmarked graves, but people have placed rocks or a steel fence post indicating where a grave is but nothing more.

"The cemetery is located in a very peaceful position next to the road to Cooma and is surrounded by gum trees and Radiata pines. The Bendethera Valley is a popular camping spot with Wyanbene Cave and Berlang campgrounds to the north. There is still the old remains of the Bendethera homestead , and the surrounding areas have a variety of features relating to gold and silver mining."

Robyn's images may be downloaded from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information. We are also indebted to Barry Stevenson for sharing the data he has collected on burials at Gundillion.

Gundillion is 41.9km south west of Braidwood via the Captains Flat and Krawarree Road. The cemetery is on the eastern side of the road. Lat -35.724751 Long 149.639622
