Coffs Harbour Lawn
Karangi Lawn
Coffs Harbour Lawn Cemetery has been serving the district since about 1970. It occupies a generous site and is well planned and maintained by Coffs Harbour City Council. Included on the site are a crematorium, columbaria and rockery gardens for the placement of ashes. Occasional seating, shelter and conveniences are all to be found on site together with adequate parking space.
Sandra Cockbain initially photographed all the inscriptions in 2006 and has recently updated her records. Sandra's images may be viewed at the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled from her images and with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information.
Heather & Paul Owen have now completed a full revision of the cemetery and gardens and uploaded the new plaques and some that have been replaced.
Note: Some of the plaques recorded here may no longer exist. A spate of thefts of bronze plaques from cemeteries in this region was reported in July 2011. The heartless thieves, when removing the markers, have also caused damage to the stones on which they were mounted. If you have family graves in this cemetery, it is suggested that you check on their integrity.
Coffs Harbour Lawn Cemetery is 9.5km from the Pacific Highway. Turn into West High Street for 1.1km; at the roundabout, take the second exit into Coramba Road from where it is 8.3km to the cemetery entrance.
