Bondooma Homestead
8262 Munduberra-Durong Road
There are, reportedly, approximately 37 graves on Boondooma Homestead. Only one headstone is left standing. This property was established in 1847 by the Lawson Brothers and Robert Alexander. Like most stations of that era, they were sheep farmers, wool being their main source of income. Many of the shepherds were of German & Chinese heritage. Boondooma, at that time, was 1000 square miles. The last owners were Eddie & Joyce Thomson. Their son Buddy grew up here and is now living at Boondooma Homestead, doing most of the restoration work.
Boondooma Homestead is now owned by South Burnett Regional Council but managed by the Boondooma Museum & Heritage Assoc. Inc. It is very well maintained.
