Off Sunny Corner Road,
This historic cemetery contains monuments dating from 1859. The earliest of these are of sandstone and several of them are very eroded and now difficult to read. Marble and granite stones make up the remainder. It appears that the site has been laid out in denominational areas but, if so, these are not indicated in any way.
When we visited, we found the grounds well fenced and in excellent order. There was no apparent sign of vandalism and broken glass and weeds were no problem.
This list was compiled from digital images and notes that Jean and I made of every visible inscription on 6 and 12 January 2004. We also consulted the NSW index of births, deaths and marriages to help determine difficult to read names and dates and for further information.
Meadow Flat is a small village 39km from Lithgow towards Bathurst on the Great Western Highway. From the Highway at Meadow Flat, turn onto the Sunny Corner Road and then immediately left past the public school. The cemetery is almost 1 km beyond the school on the left hand (western) side of the road.
The cemetery is administered by Lithgow City Council. For further information, contact Council at PO Box 19, Lithgow NSW 2790; phone 02 6352 1077; email: firstname.lastname@example.org
