Clarence Lawn Cemetery occupies an area of approximately 5 hectares and has provided lawn cemetery facilities for the Grafton district since the mid-1960s. The main lawn area is laid out in six sections with plaques mounted on each side of the concrete strips. There are also several columbaria, a children's section and memorial gardens. The grounds are well maintained by the Clarence Valley Council. Clarence Valley Council maintains a Register of Burials on its website which locates where a deceased person is buried.
Sandra Cockbain has visited the cemetery on a number of occasions and photographed all visible inscriptions. She also prepared the list of inscriptions for this cemetery which has been compiled with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial's online military rolls for additional information. Sandra has updated the cemetery images up to 12 Jul 2016, and is currently updating the sections from 2016 to October 2019.
From the Pacific Highway at South Grafton, head south on Armidale Road for 6.8km. The cemetery is on the left hand (eastern) side of the road just past the Orara Way intersection.
Clarence Lawn Cemetery is administered by the Clarence Valley Council. For further information, contact Council at 2 Prince Street (Locked Bag 23), Grafton NSW 2460; phone 02 6643 0200; email: email@example.com
