The Galga cemetery is one of 2 licensed cemeteries in the Karoonda East Murray council area. It stands out with the typical church/school gum trees that surround the boundary however unsure if there was a church there originally.
In township of Galga, there were many german families that settled in the area. There was a Lutheran church in the township, but also Roman Catholic and Methodist services held in the region.
The condition of the cemetery is good. No visible vandalism on the headstones and there are no overgrown weeds on the graves. It appears it may receive a mow occasionally .but looks like nothing grows fast anyway
The cemetery was visited on a warm October afternoon captured on an iPhone 6.
