A small cemetery near the locality Chain of Ponds.
A plaque is erected to the memory of those known or unknown to be buried here.
The graves are dotted throughout the area, however many are in need of repair/replacement and/or illegible.
The town of Philptown was relocated by the government in the 1970s due to concerns about water contamination.
While the plot falls under Adelaide Hills Council, the site is not listed under cemeteries page.
There doesn't appear to be any regular maintenance although the site is mowed/snipped to reduce fire hazards. The grounds are clay and a small stream can flow through it during heavy rains and can be quite slippery during these times.
As this area is a small parking bay, there is rubbish that is left behind, and random graffiti on signs and stone wall.
Site was visited in July 2016, taken on an iPhone.
Travelling along North East Road between Gumeracha and Tea Tree Gully, the cemetery can be found between the turnoffs to Lobethal/Cudlee Creek to the west, and Kersbrook to the east.
