Woolgoolga Lawn
Woolgoolga Lawn Cemetery was photographed by Heather Allen in November 2007 and updated in October 2008 and September 2011. Recently, Sandra Cockbain has contributed images of the plaques on the two columbarium walls situated near the cemetery entrance. This modern lawn cemetery appears to have been established in 1995. The grounds and gardens are maintained in excellent condition by the Coffs Harbour City Council. As a service to visitors, a glass fronted cabinet at the entrance displays a list of all burials and plot numbers.
The list of inscriptions for this cemetery was compiled with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information. Heather and Paul Owen completed an update of the cemetery in December 2017.
Note: Some of the plaques recorded here may no longer exist. A spate of thefts of bronze plaques from cemeteries in this region was reported in July 2011. The heartless thieves, when removing the markers, have also caused damage to the stones on which they were mounted. If you have family graves in this cemetery, it is suggested that you check on their integrity.
From Woolgoolga, head west for 900m via Beach and Clarence Streets to the Pacific Highway, turn north for 1.2km and turn east into Centenary Drive for 900m to the cemetery.
The cemetery is administered by the Coffs Harbour City Council. For further information, contact Council at Locked Bag 155, Coffs Harbour NSW 2450; phone: 02 6648 4000; email: coffs.council@chcc.nsw.gov.au
