Willow Tree Catholic
The small Catholic cemetery at Willow Tree contains monumental inscriptions that date from 1922 with at least two unmarked graves. There is also the beginning of a small lawn section that, when we visited it in September 2007, displayed one plaque and two temporary markers.
The monuments were all in good order with no evidence of vandalism. The grounds, however, were in need of attention with a profusion of weeds and burrs over the entire site.
In compiling the inscription list, reference was made to the NSW BDM indexes for further information. The digital images can be viewed via the camera icon attached to each entry on the list of inscriptions for this cemetery.
From Willow Tree village, drive south past the railway station and turn right across the railway line onto the Merriwa Road. The cemetery is 1.2km from the railway crossing. Access to it is gained from the Borambil Creek Road.
The Willow Tree Catholic Cemetery is now administered by the Liverpool Plains Shire Council. For further Information, contact Council at 60 Station Street, Quirindi NSW 2343; telephone: 02 67461755; email: email@example.com
