A historic cemetery that contains several prisoners and a warder’s wife from the early Trial Bay jail. The cemetery was marked on Ernst Herborn’s road survey map of 1881. The earliest headstone is 1891, Michael Durning.
During the 1980s the headstones were removed by a local resident and taken to Kempsey Council for safekeeping. They have never been seen since.
The couple of remaining headstones were photographed in August 2012 by Heather Stevens.
