Dunoon Cemetery is a small bush cemetery 2km south of Dunoon village. It dates from the 1880s, the earliest inscription extant being dated 1886. It is entirely monumental except for a small columbarium probably erected about 1985. The headstones are generally in good condition but lichen makes deciphering some of the inscriptions difficult.
Sandra and Warren Cockbain visited the cemetery in April 2012 and made digital images of all visible inscriptions. Their pictures may be viewed from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information.
Dunnon Cemetery is 14.5km north of Lismore via the Dunoon Road. It is on the left hand (western) side of the road, not visible from the road, and accessed via a tree lined lane. Lat -28.697199, Long 153.303325
Dunoon Cemetery is administered by Lismore City Council. For further information, contact Council at PO Box 23A, Lismore NSW 2480; email: council@lismore.nsw.gov.au
