St Michael's Catholic Church

The current church was built in 1975 and shares its car-park with the adjacent St Michael's Primary School. The two columbaria were erected in 1996/97 and are in the gardens at the back of the church overlooking the car-park.
The columbaria and all the plaques were photographed on 17 Nov 2020 and 8 Jul 2022 by Garry Newton. There were 128 plaques which included one from each of 1969, 1984 and 1991, and one which occupies two niches. Additionally, there was one sealed niche that did not yet have a plaque. There is a current capacity for a total of 700 interments.
Each of the columbaria's 4 sides has 7 rows numbered A-G from the top downwards, and the niches are numbered 1-25 from left to right.
Entry is at the end of Sproule Street which runs off Nelson Street and is within walking distance of the town's shopping centre.
