Reidsdale NSW is a rich agricultural settlement, formerly known as "The Irish Corner". In October 1849 it was announced that the Government allocated one acre of land for the Catholic Church (NSW Government Gazette, 5 October 1849, Trove). This area included land for an adjoining cemetery. Archbishop Polding consecrated this graveyard in June 1851 (Freeman's Journal, 22 June 1852, Trove).
There are eleven monuments in Reidsdale Cemetery, and there are unmarked graves. Most monuments are headed by the inscription "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" (Glory to God in the Highest).
This graveyard is located on private land and is well maintained. Before visiting, please ask permission from the landowners.
