The Killabakh Cemetery was dedicated in 1908 and contains monuments dating from 1910. It includes denominational and general portions as well as a small columbarium. Paul Fitzgerald visited and photographed the cemetery in November 2008. He says that he found it very neat and tidy. There are no amenities.
Paul's pictures may be downloaded from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. He compiled that list from his images and with reference to the NSW BDM indices and to the AWM online military rolls for additional information.
From Wingham, take the Comboyne Road north for 11km. The cemetery is on the left hand (western) side of the road, is visible from the road, and is signposted.
Killabakh Cemetery is administered by the Greater Taree City Council. For further information, contact Council at PO Box 482, Taree NSW 2430; phone: 02 6592 5399; email: gtaree@gtcc.nsw.gov.au
