Mount Bassett Cemetery, is located on Mount Bassett Cemetery Road, North Mackay, Queensland.The cemetery is also known as Mount Bassett Lawn cemetery. The cemetery site is on the Southern side of Mount Bassett, and is quite sloped. Recommend entry to the cemetery via second entry on your left, where there a sign board, and map of the cemetery grounds. Mount Bassett cemetery is divided into denominational sections. There is little shade available in the older section of the cemetery, so you should ensure that you cover up, wear a hat and adequate walking shoes. There is a public toilet located in the cemetery grounds. The Office is manned on weekdays only. You will need to obtain burial details from Mackay City Council, or Mackay Family History Association before hand if you are visiting the area on a weekend.
