This small cemetery contains the remains of some early pioneers of the Carwell area, particularly the Nevell family. The earliest burial commemorated is that of William Hawker in 1844, of which there is no Early Church Record in existence. The latest marked burial was in 1980. The cemetery was very overgrown when we visited it but the memorials are in good to excellent condition, considering their age, and there is no evidence of vandalism.

Jean and I made digital images and notes of every visible inscription on 12 February 2002. In compiling the list we also referred to the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages for further information.

From Rylstone, take the Lake Windamere Road for 10km south. The cemetery is situated on the left or eastern side of the road just after crossing Carwell Creek. Although close to the road, it is elevated and easy to miss travelling in this direction.

Privately owned and maintained.
