Ulan General Cemetery
Address: Off Main Street, Ulan 2850 NSW
The small village of Ulan is notable for a substantial coal mining operation. Its cemetery is only about 100 years old but is little used these days. The grounds are fenced to exclude stock and are generally in tidy condition. There are no facilities.
Jean and I originally compiled this list from digital images and notes made on 9 June 2002 and updated it on 13 March 2004. We also referred to the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages and to the death and funeral announcements and obituaries published in the Mudgee Guardian & Gulgong Advertiser for further information. Images of the inscriptions may be viewed and downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery.
How to find it
If driving from Mudgee, take the Cassilis Road north for 38 km, turn west at Cope Road, cross the railway line and enter the village; continue along Main Street where the cemetery laneway is signposted at no 95.
