Rozelayne Cemetery

Address: Tillings Lane, Curra Creek 2820 NSW

Arthur Rich gave this tiny cemetery, Portion 163 in the Parish of Veech, to the people of Curra Creek. It contains memorials dating from 1883 to 1959 as well as several unmarked graves. The site is fenced to exclude stock but, when we visited it, we found it sadly neglected and overgrown with noxious weeds.

Jean and I visited Rozelayne Cemetery on 19 November 2002 and made digital images and notes of every visible inscription. In compiling this list, we also consulted the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages to help determine difficult to read names and dates and for additional information. Images of inscriptions may be viewed and downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery.

From Wellington, take the Renshaw McGirr Way towards Parkes, turning left onto the alternate route to Parkes through Curra Creek after about 9km. About 12 km from that intersection along the Curra Creek Road, Tillings Lane is found on the eastern side of the road at Curra Creek.
