Peel General Cemetery
Address: Bathurst Road, Peel 2795 NSW
When we visited the site, the track to the cemetery was closed in places by fallen timber following a windstorm and we had to make several deviations. The cemetery appears to have been established around 1884 as there are several stones dating from that period. The denominational portions are not indicated. There is no sign of vandalism and the graves are all accessible. However the grounds were in need of attention.
This list was compiled from digital images and notes that Jean and I made of every visible inscription on 4 February 2005. We also consulted the NSW index of births, deaths and marriages to help determine difficult to read names and dates and for further information. Images of inscriptions may be viewed and downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery.
