Flinders Medical Centre Memorial Garden
Address: Flinders Drive, Bedford Park 5042 SA
Flinders Medical Centre is a public teaching hospital and medical school, co-located with Flinders University and Flinders Private Hospital. The memorial garden can be found along the southern side of the river bank not far from the main entrance to the Centre at Bedford Park.
The memorial was created during the early 1990’s by staff who worked at Flinders Medical Centre as a way to remember staff who had passed away whilst still in the employ of FMC. The practice of placing memorial plaques so near to the hospital fell out of favour during the late 1990’s or early 2000’s with the last plaque being placed in 2002. There have been no new additions since that date.
The images of the plaques in the garden have been kindly contributed by Jeanice Levez who took the pictures in February 2011. They may be viewed from the list of inscriptions for this memorial.
