Yungaburra Cemetery

Address: Mulgrave Road, Yungaburra 4884 QLD

Yungaburra Cemetery is approximately 100 years old, the earliest inscription dated 1901. The monuments are generally in good condition and legible and include some unusual contemporary designs. A shelter erected in the grounds displays a plot map of the cemetery with the name of the deceased so that it is very easy to find the grave sought.

Peter and Karen Patterson-Kane visited the cemetery in December 2010 and made digital images of all visible inscriptions. Peter was impressed by its general appearance. He said that, although the rear and side fences need some repair, "the grounds are in excellent order and a lot of the graves have flower gardens on them, rose bushes and small flowering scrubs. The cemetery has a very pretty appearance and a nice feel to it - a great resting place."

Peter's images may be downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the Queensland indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information.
