Einasleigh Cemetery
Address: Cemetery Road, Einasleigh 4871 QLD
Einasleigh Cemetery dates from the establishment of the town when the railway line opened in 1910. The bulk of the inscriptions fall into the earlier years of its operation, the local population having shrunk since then. However, it remains in use and a small columbarium has been added in recent years bearing plaques dating from 1989.
When Peter and Karen Patterson-Kane visited the site in April 2010, they found the cemetery in very neat and tidy condition. The monuments are erect and generally in good order and clearly legible. Peter and Karen made digital images and notes of all visible inscriptions. Their pictures and inscription details may be viewed here. In compiling the list, reference was made to the Queensland indices of births, deaths and marriages for additional information.
