Evergreen Cemetery occupies a deep but narrow site. The grounds afford a picnic table, toilet and a directory of all known burials at this site including row and plot numbers. The monuments are in good order and erect and the grounds well maintained by the cemetery Trust.
Peter and Karen Patterson-Kane visited Evergreen Cemetery in January 2010 and made digital images of all visible inscriptions. These date from 1896 and reflect the large numbers of German immigrants who pioneered white settlement in this district. The list of inscriptions for this cemetery was compiled by Karen and Peter from their images and notes and with reference to the Queensland indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial's online military rolls for additional information.
The locality of Evergreen is 64km north-west of Toowoomba and is accessible via the Warrego Highway and the Oakey Cooyar Road.
