Moorland General Cemetery
Address: Off Pacific Highway, Moorland 2443 NSW
Moorland General Cemetery occupies a small site just east of the Pacific Highway and is surrounded by trees on three sides. Earliest inscriptions date from 1894 and the cemetery is still in use with recent burials noted. At the time of listing it was recently mowed and in good order with no sign of vandalism.
There is no signage to denote denominational areas nor any row or grave numbering to be seen. A small columbarium on the site bears an inscription stating that it was funded and erected by the local community.
The digital images were taken by Ray Cork during August 2008. His images may be downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. Ray also compiled the inscription list with reference to the NSW BDM online search facility and the Australian War Memorial Nominal Rolls for both WW1 and WW2 for additional information.
How to find it
Moorland General Cemetery is about 1.5km north of Moorland Township. Take the Pacific Highway north from the intersection of Hannan Vale Road for approximately 1.5km. The cemetery is immediately adjacent to the eastern side of the highway.
