Barooga General Cemetery
Address: Cemetery Road, Barooga 3644 NSW
Barooga Cemetery occupies a tree-bordered site of nearly 1.5 hectares, 2km from town. John Archer visited and photographed all of its inscriptions in August 2007. He found inscriptions dating from 1901. There are very few marble headstones, the preference here clearly being for brass plaques. The site was in excellent condition and well maintained.
John's images may be downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial military rolls for additional information.
How to find it
From town, take the Golf Course Road north west for 1.8km and continue on Cemetery Road for a further 0.5km. The cemetery is on the right hand (eastern) side of the road.
