East Gresford Catholic Cemetery

This well kept little Catholic Cemetery at East Gresford contains headstones dating from 1875 to the present day. There is one old fallen stone bearing the date 1858 but whether this represents the earliest burial here is not known. Obviously, a considerable amount of work has been done to preserve the old stones, many of them having been remounted on concrete beams.
Ruth King visited the site in February 2008 and made digital images of every visible inscription. Her images may be downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the NSW BDM indices and the Australian War Memorial nominal rolls for additional information.
How to find it
The East Gresford Catholic Cemetery is located on the eastern side of Park Street, opposite St Helen's Church. There is a sign and entrance on Park Street, but access to the cemetery is best gained by driving into the adjoining sports ground.
