Warra General Cemetery
Address: Off Warrego Highway, Warra 4411 QLD
The Warra Cemetery was photographed by Jim Dudgeon in April 2008. He found inscriptions dating from 1902 and a number of unmarked graves. He says that the condition of the graves and stones range in condition from excellent to very poor and that some are in need of restoration.
The site is maintained by volunteers who, Jim says, do a marvellous job. In 2007, the old wooden post and rail fence was replaced with a new steel front fence and the ornate entrance archway and gate was restored and erected by local farmers. There are no portion or row markers nor amenities on site.
Jim's images may be downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the Queensland BDM online search facility and to military records for additional information.
