Cemetery 32 - Dunedoo

Avonside North Road,

The cemetery is around 100 years old; the earliest memorial standing was dated 1912. When transcribed, the grounds were in tidy condition with grass cut, litter bins and seating installed. The denominational portions and rows were clearly marked. The road within the cemetery is sealed and there is ample parking. There was no evidence of vandalism.

This list was originally compiled from digital images and notes that Jean and I made of every visible inscription on 25 and 29 July 2002 and we updated it on 4 October 2005. We are indebted to Anne Chapman who has contributed images she made in August 2010 of subsequent inscriptions in the Anglican and Independent portions.

In compiling the list of inscriptions, we referred to the Council record of burials, the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages, the Australian War Memorial online military rolls and the death and funeral announcements and obituaries published in the Mudgee Guardian & Gulgong Advertiser.

Take the Dubbo Road out of Dunedoo township for 1km and turn south onto Avonside North Road. The cemetery is on the western side of the road, about 750m from the intersection. Lat-32.028817 Long 149.376951

The cemetery is administered and maintained by the Warrumbungle Shire Council. For further information, contact Council at PO Box 191, Coonabarabran NSW 2357; phone 02 6849 2000; email: info@warrumbungle.nsw.gov.au
