Home Hill General Cemetery

Address: Cnr Fourth St & Burdekin Rd, Home Hill 4806 QLD

The images from Home Hill Cemetery have been kindly provided by Saskia Vollema-Creek who photographed all visible inscriptions during April 2006 and updated her images in 2011. She says that the cemetery appears to be divided into two portions - Catholic and Protestant but there are no portion or row markers. Not even the cemetery name is displayed.

Inscriptions recorded by Saskia date from 1930. There are quite a few vaults in the Catholic portion. A columbarium has been erected in recent years and a lawn cemetery just begun. She says that the grounds are mown and weeded regularly. It is unfortunate that many of the monuments are coated in lime scale that makes the inscriptions difficult to read.

Saskia's images may be downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. The list was compiled with reference to the Queensland BDM online search facility and also Australian War Memorial military records for additional information.
