Bandon Grove Cemetery
Address: Off Chichester Dam Road, Bandon Grove 2420 NSW
Bandon Grove Cemetery was visited and photographed by Denis Woolaston on 4th September 2007. He says that it contains 62 headstones with one unmarked cast iron grave site, since identified as the grave of James and Amelia Bignall. Within the cemetery is another small fenced off area containing more headstones. The cemetery is still in use with the latest burial in 1998.
The cemetery is in an idyllic location on the banks of the Williams River but is in need of attention. Because of the high rainfall, most of the older headstones are covered with lichen and some have substantial leans. Some of sandstone headstones are badly weathered.
Denis' images may be viewed from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. This has been compiled with reference to the NSW BDM indexes and military records for additional information.
