Hiland Crescent Cemetery
Address: Hiland Crescent & Maize Street, Tenambit 2323 NSW
This historic cemetery was listed by Roma Waldron in 1990 and photographed by Robert Tozer in October 2006. The list incorporates both lots of data but it was not possible to associate some of Robert's images with inscriptions listed by Roma because of the deterioration and erosion of some of the stones or because they had been overgrown with lichen.
Inscriptions have been identified that date from as early as 1841 - in fact there is a considerable number of stones still standing from that decade. There is only a small number bearing dates after 1900. It is understood that the cemetery originally provided Catholic and Presbyterian portions with an Anglican portion being added later.
In compiling the list, the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages were consulted for further information and to better identify some burials. The digital images may be viewed and downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery.
