The images of Seaham General Cemetery have been supplied by Ruth King, who visited the cemetery in January 2004. She writes:

"Seaham is a small town in a rural setting situated near the Williams River at the junction of Clarence Town and Seaham Roads. This rural area has a lot of horse studs and cattle breeders. The cemetery is found in woodland setting among farmlands and the grounds are well maintained and it is quiet and peaceful." Ruth found inscriptions from as early as 1851 up to the present day.

In compiling the list of inscriptions, we referred to the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages and to military records for further information.

The cemetery is on the eastern side of the town. Turn right onto Wrighton Street then right onto Grape Street (gravel road) and this will take you to the cemetery.

Seaham General Cemetery is administered by the Port Stephens Council. For further information, contact Council at PO Box 42, Raymond Terrace NSW 2324; Phone 02 4980 0255; email: council@portstephens.nsw.gov.au
