Owens Gap Catholic Cemetery
Address: Owens Gap 2337 NSW
The images for Owens Gap RC Cemetery were supplied by David Billington who visited the cemetery in January 2007. He writes:
"Owens Gap was a Catholic area and with the first settlers being Thomas and Mary Quinn. The land selected by Thomas remains in the family to this day. In 1898 the Church of the Most Precious Blood was erected on land given by Martin Quinn. The church fell into disuse but was replaced in 1918 by a new one which remained in use until after the Second World War. It was then closed and later demolished (or possibly removed). All that remains is the churchyard containing 10 graves all of the Quinn Family."
In compiling the list of inscriptions, reference was made to the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages for further information. David's images may be viewed and downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery.
