This historically significant cemetery, maintained in excellent condition by the Cessnock City Council, contains memorials from the mid-1840s to the present day. It was photographed by Robert Tozer in September 2002 and the list of inscriptions subsequently prepared from his images by Roma Waldron.
In compiling the inscription list, we referred to the NSW indexes of births, deaths and marriages and to military records for further information.
Wollombi is a village approximately 29km south-west of Cessnock at the junction of Wollombi Road and Great North Road. The cemetery is on Wollombi Road near the intersection with Crawford Street.
