Oberon Old Anglican Cemetery

Address: Oberon Street, Oberon 2787 NSW

This tiny cemetery contains only a few surviving headstones. With one exception, they are all of sandstone and all of them are dated between 1871 and 1887. It is hard to say whether every one stands in its original position; I rather suspect not. A footstone is all that remains of one grave.

The cemetery area is beside the present church hall with access to Queen Street at the rear. The grounds were in neat condition with lawns mown when we visited, and they are set off by a small memorial park at the front of the church and cemetery.

We visited the site on 26 October 2006 and recorded and made digital images of all visible inscriptions. These may be viewed and downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. In compiling the list, we referred to the NSW indices of deaths for additional information.
